Something to browse over coffee this weekend.
This New York Times article reminded me of three postcards I picked up in London’s Courtauld Gallery when I visited in October. This modestly-sized gallery had a temporary exhibition exploring the sculptor Rodin’s study of movement and dance. It consisted of three rooms of sketches and the small plaster statues made from them. The fluidity and energy of every movement and posture was mesmerising. You can still discover this exhibition through the videos on the Courtauld website .
If you’re in London, the Courtauld is lovely place to discover, it’s central, has a cute gift shop and the size is ideal for a short visit. And, if you’re in Paris let me live vicariously through you, pretty please : go visit the Rodin Museum and then tell me everything!
